suns deal kevin durant to houston

The Phoenix Suns have traded super star forward Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the number 10 pick in this year's draft, and five second-round picks.

The 37 year old Durant is now back playing in the state of Texas where he won National player of the year as a freshman at the University of Texas in 2007.

He averaged 26.6 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists on 52.7 percent shooting in the 2024-2025 season with the suns.

Jalen Green will look to add to a talented Suns team that features stars in Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker. The 23 year old Green put up 21 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 3.4 APG in the 2024-2025 season with the Rockets.

Dillon Brooks (29) will look to be an anchor on the defensive end of the floor with Phoenix. His second season in Houston was solid as he put up 14 ppg, 3.7 rpg, and 1.7 apg. Phoenix will be his third team in his eight year NBA career.

Phoenix will look to improve off of their disappointing season where they fell short of making the playoffs after putting up a 36-46 record. They had high hopes with the trio of Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Kevin Durant, but the trio was never able to find their footing together.

Houston has a surprise season where they finished second in the Western Conference with a 52-30 record. The Warriors knocked them out in the first round of the playoffs in seven games. Durant will look to provide veteran leadership to a team that is lacking in that department.
